Dear Media Outlets I Adore:

Dear Today Show and Cosmo Magazine:

I love you both dearly, however, tonight I must address your need to make me want things I can’t afford (AKA Stella McCartney Sea grass Sandals).

Today Show, I’ll start with you, because you were the first introduce me to the Stella Sea grass. The morning of May 15, 2007 you ran the story, Swimwear that never goes out of style. The models on the show were featured wearing the summers hottest sandal, pictured above. When I saw them I knew I had to have them. I recently got an amazing job and figured I could afford to treat myself to a new hot shoe! This dream was crushed when I found the shoes at Nieman Marcus online for $575. What percentage of people who watch the Today Show can afford purchase a $575 pair of sandals that will be out of style next season? I haven’t found the answer to my question, but you better believe I’m still researching it.

Just as I thought my addiction for the shoes had begun to come to an end…Cosmo featured the shoe in this months magazine(page 178)! Truth be told, part of me feels that it’s Cosmo’s job to make young sassy women like myself lust over expensive accessories. My lusting drives me to work my booty off in order achieve fashion status of the stars. However, it still breaks my heart that these shoes are unattainable.

In conclusion, if you are going to make me desire shoes I can’t afford, could you please follow up by showing me the next best thing at around the $125 and below price range?

Sincerely,
Sara

PS- If you have a sample pair in your wardrobe that you would like to donate to my cause, I wear a 7.5! That is unless Meredith Vieira already snagged them…if she did make her give them back. I know she can afford them.

For cute shoes you can afford this season, check out www.zappos.com or if you can afford these sexy sandals check out www.niemanmarcus.com. If you can get me a pair too!
