New Bedroom Stuff

I am SO excited! Today I bought a new bedroom set, YEAH! I have been wanting a bedroom set for as long as I can remember. Until now I have been sleeping on a super cheap mattress from college and had make shift furniture that was hand me down from other people. But not anymore, well actually not in four weeks when my new set from Bassett Furniture comes in! I got a new mattress a week ago and it’s great, but my bedroom will be even better with this! Can you tell I’m excited?

Zumba!

So I told you I bought a class card at B Risque last week…well this week I decided to leave the pole to the professionals and try my hat at Zumba! It was this latin inspired dance/ aerobic class and it was awesome! I highly recomend anyone trying it, I think they have live classes as well as DVD! Super fun!

Loving Lauren’s Look

I love this dress that Lauren Conrad wore to the Los Angeles Times IMAGE launch party at The Beverly Hills Hotel’s new bar NINETEEN12 on Thursday night. According to Perez, she got a new stylist. She looks adorable. I tried this on recently at Neiman Marcus. However, it was a bit casual for my national sales meeting, so I went with this Kay Unger dress instead. I so wish that I had something else fun to go to so that I had an excuse to buy this little black and white number to! I love it.

B Risque’

Last night I went to my first class at B Risque in Charlotte. They consider themselves an “alternative” aerobic studio. All I can say is that I have a new found respect for pole dancers! I could never get a job, because I am perhaps the most unsexy pole dancer EVER. It was indeed a work out, and as their ads say I was “workin it”. But it was super hard.

The first move that we learned you jumped up on the pole, wrapped your legs around and slid down. The teacher made it look so easy, as well as all the strippers I’ve ever seen. So I jumped up with easy and confidence, popped my legs out with pointed toes, and slid about half way down the pole…then came the pain. How in God’s creation do these women put up with this? Not only is it super hard, but when your bare skin hits that hard metal pole, it kills! SEVERE PAIN!!!

The next series of moves that we learned we spins. Also very hard, but not as painful as the slider move. I sucked at these also.

For the finale, we learned a choreographed routine. This was humbling since I had danced my entire life, and had a hard time keeping up with the teacher and her graceful stripper spins. She wasn’t a small girl by any means, but she managed to make herself look like Tinkerbell as she effortlessly side up, down and around the pole. Once we would do a spin to the floor, she would say and “get up sexy”. After sliding around the pole and almost crashing into the ground, I could barely get up, let alone make it look remotely sexy.

Today I woke up and my body hates me! My inner thighs are bruised, my arms ache and my foot (that I managed to hit several times into the pole) is killing me. Good thing I bought a 5 class card so that I can go back and torture myself again. Thank the Lord they have other classes like Zumba, hip hop, and sexy chair stripper class so that next time I’m not in so much pain.

Go Panthers

I admit that I only watch any type of sports for social reasons. I don’t care who wins or loses aside from the fact that a lot of people that I’m friends with do, and when their team looses they are in a super bad mood, and I don’t like that, so I cheer for their team so they can be in a good mood!
Kirsten told me last football season that I had to like the Bengals. I lived in Lexington at the time and I’m from Ohio, so that seemed pretty natural. So, after a season of Sundays at BW3’s, football 101 w/ KF and screaming “Whodey!”, I thought I was a set Bengals fan.
Now I live in Charlotte and was invited to my first Panthers tailgate. I’m sure from now I’ll like the Panthers and I have a quick list of reasons why I’m no longer a Bengals fan, and like the panthers.
1. Teal is a much cuter color than Orange!
2. QB David Carr is delicious
3. Tailgates outside are more fun than going to BW3’s (not that I don’t miss QT with KF)
4. Panthers don’t like the Steelers either…which seems to be a common thread with my Bengals alliance
Give me a few more weeks here and I’m sure I’ll be able to come up with a few more reasons. But this football season, I’m Panthers all the way!

Mag Junkie

I am a magazine junkie! Especically for Friday rags like US Weekly. Now that my life is finally back to normal and I have a home that I live in daily, I was able to get subscriptions back in my life! YEAH!!!

Love at first sight

I am the type of person you may call “picky”. I personally don’t think I’m “picky”, I just know what I want as soon as I see it. For many aspects of my life, I know if I will want something or someone from the moment that I lay eyes on it.

Examples:
My Dog- I saw her, I loved her, I bought her. Done.
My current town home-I saw it. I loved it. I rented it. Done.

This list could go on and on with frivilous items in my closet, home, etc. But the question that is burning in my mind is when I find someone will I feel the same way? And more important, if I do, how will I know if they feel the same?
