Cam Needs some HELP!

My blogging buddy Cam needs some help! She’s making a “zine” for one of her final class projects, and needs to know what makes a strong woman? So answer me this…

What do you think makes a woman strong? In every sense of the word.
And what are some examples, if you can think of any, of strong women in your life or in the media or in history?

I’ve been pondering this for a while now…then I found this link and it pretty much took the thoughts right out of my mind:

A strong woman works out everyday to keep her body in shape…

But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn’t afraid of anything…

But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won’t let anyone get the better of her…

But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…

A woman of strength realises life’s mistakes can also be unexpected blessings, and capitalises on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…

But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…

But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Women today play many different roles, both in the home, and in society. I think a strong woman/woman of strength is one who has dreams and aspirations and stops at nothing to attain them. Regardless if those dreams are personal or professional!
There are women in history who have paved the way for us today. Through their courage, perseverance and strength. Women like Clara Barton, Rosa Parks, Helen Keller, Anne Frank, Eleanor Roseavelt started the trend from when we are today.
There are also women who aren’t in the spotlight that I’m sure have made an impact in the lives of many with their strength and courage.
Let me know your thoughts so Cam can have a fab “zine”!

  1. I think a strong woman can be summed up in one word- conviction. Do everything in your life with conviction, as if you know you are the best at whatever you are doing. Whether it is being a friend, selling a piece of equipment, giving someone else support for a loss, or whatever. Believe in yourself and your abilities.

P.S.- You just called and I sent you to VM because I was typing this. I’ll call you when I get in the car ;o)

  2. I think a strong woman is one who feels deeply, but remains sensible. She is a woman who walks proudly, but with a kind spirit. One who stands by her beliefs, and goes for what she wants without apology (all the while respecting others). She is one who refuses to back down no matter how hard the world pushes back. She fights hard; she says what she feels; she is knowledgeable. And, she does all of this gracefully.
