Fairytales

As women, we’re always wishing, hoping and praying that Prince Charming will come along and make our lives complete. The older we get, the more we know about ourselves. The more we know about ourselves, the more vivid our picture of the Prince is.

No longer is he just a tall, dark and handsome man with a killer body and piercing eyes. These days we’re not just asking for more, we’re demanding it. We want their values, morals and principals to fit in the story that we’ve already started to write for ourselves. We’re sick of kissing frogs (or pigs-in my case) hoping that after they taste our succulent MAC lipglass, they’ll magically transform into the man we want them to be…but that doesn’t stop us from trying.

Maybe our efforts are because we know that in the end, the girl always gets her Prince. But what we forget about the story is that the girl is never out man hunting…he always pops up when she least expects it.

Cinderella found her man at a costume party, Princess Aurora’s (AKA-Sleeping Beauty) man came to her in her sleep, Snow White had 7 men who were all wrong for her until she found the one, Belle’s man was a Beast for crying out loud.

Moral of the story: None of these girls found their happy ending after a night of Jager Bombs at the bar on Saturday night.

Perhaps if we broaden our horizons and quit looking, our Prince will come.

In the mean time, I’ll happily settle for a Fairy Godfather…T Minus 7 days until my little Princess crew and I hit the beaches of MIAMI!!!!

  1. I love you. PERIOD! I can never thank you enough for being such a wonderful friend to me. I feel so blessed to have you in my life. We may live in different states and only see each other periodically, however I grow closer to you each and every day. WE will find our prince I promise…. and he will be everything we deserve and that much more!! (BTW…that does mean emotionally available, charming, successful, without baggage, and hopefully a beautiful condo in Bal Harbour:)
